Production and Release of Isoflavonoids by Lupin Cell Cultures
نویسندگان
چکیده
Cell cultures derived from white lupin (Lupinus albus) radicles consist o f a mixture o f friable cell aggregates and finely divided cells. Both types o f tissue accumulate two isoflavonoid aglucones, genistein and 2'-hydroxygenistein, their 7-O-glucosides, and their respective 6-, 8-, and 3'-monoprenyl-, as well as the 6,3'-diprenyl derivatives. M ost o f these metabolites are differen tially released in the culture medium. The relative amounts o f aglucones, glucosides and prenylated derivatives that are produced by the aggregates and cells, as well as those excreted into the medium, are discussed in relation to culture growth.

Effect of chemical factors on production of isoflavonoids in Pueraria tuberosa (Roxb.ex.Willd.) DC suspension culture.
Suspension cultures of Pueraria tuberosa, a woody legume, have been established and using different concentrations of growth regulators, sucrose, ammonium and nitrate nitrogen, attempts have been made to improve their isoflavonoid content. The cell cultures grew well on all the treatments. Up to approximately 8 folds increased isoflavonoids content was recorded in the cultures grown in MS mediu...
متن کاملWhite lupin has developed a complex strategy to limit microbial degradation of secreted citrate required for phosphate acquisition.
White lupins (Lupinus albus L.) respond to phosphate deficiency by producing special root structures called cluster roots. These cluster roots secrete large amounts of carboxylates into the rhizosphere, mostly citrate and malate, which act as phosphate solubilizers and enable the plant to grow in soils with sparingly available phosphate. The success and efficiency of such a P-acquisition strate...
متن کاملProduction of Arbutin by Biotransformation of Hydroquinone Using Peganum harmala, Varthemia persica and Pycnocycla spinosa Cell Suspension Cultures
Cell cultures of Varthemia persica, Peganum harmala and Pycnocycla spinosa have been studied to evaluate their abilities to bioconvert exogenous hydroquinone. Arbutin is an important substance that has several pharmaceutical applications; therefore, we have established V. persica and P. spinosa cultures which seem to be able to metabolize hydroquinone. C...
متن کاملImprovement of Hypericin and Hyperforin Production Using Zinc and Iron Nano-oxides as Elicitors in Cell Suspension Culture of St John's wort (Hypericum perforatum L.)
Zinc and iron nano-oxides (100 ppb) were promoted the hypericin and hyperforin production in Hypericum perforatum cell suspension culture. High performance liquid chromatography method was used for detectection and identification of hypericin and hyperforin in H. perfuratum cell suspension cultures elicited with different concentrations of zinc and iron nano-oxide (0, 50, 100 and 150 ppb) after...
متن کاملUsing elicitors for enhanced production of secondary metabolites in plant cell and organ suspension cultures
In biotechnology has been concentrated to review alternative routes for the production of natural compounds. Plant cell culture systems are viable alternatives for the production of secondary metabolites that are of commercial importance in food and pharmaceutical industries. However, relatively very few cultures synthesize these compounds over extended periods in amounts comparable to those fo...
